WIP AFTER CARE MANUAL

WIP AFTER CARE MANUAL

Welcome. If you’re here that means you’ve bought a WIP product recently and you’re interested in finding out how to take care of it. Let’s take you through a step-by-step guide that’ll help you keep your t-shirt looking fresh, retain its hype and remain wearable even months from now.

Here’s the EXCLUSIVE** WIP AFTER CARE MANUAL

Step 1 - Take your t-shirt out of the box. Try it on in front of a mirror. Take some photos of yourself (or get your friend to do it).

Our t-shirts are made from 100% feel-good, soft-to-the-touch, primo quality cotton. They’re meant to make you feel comfortable and airy in all the right places. We want you to look good and feel good at the same time. It’s possible!

Step 2 - Wear it out.

We experimented with our fits a bunch of times to make sure they look good with almost anything! So don’t hesitate to wear it with absolutely any item of clothing in your wardrobe. No we mean it. Just knee length socks, togas, Jane Fonda workout tights, leather harnesses. Go wild.

Step 3 - Try not to overwash it.

We understand in hotter climes (+ corona virus World Tour 2020) it’s good to wash after each wear, but research shows that overwashing cotton can lead to a quicker death for your T-shirt. So if you are washing it every time, read step 4.

Step 4 - BE GENTLE. BE SOFT.

Be gentle with your T-shirt. Handwashing using a gentle detergent while listening to Khalid is ideal, but if you don’t have the time to do that use your washing machine at a low setting with cold water, to get stains out.

Dos

  1. Wash with like colours.

  2. Wash with cold water.

  3. Pay close attention to collars and hems.

Don’ts

  1. Tumble dry

  2. Use fabric softeners

Step 5 - DRY IT WITH LOVE.

This is an ESSENTIAL step, the one we f*** up most often. The main idea is not to apply too much heat directly onto sensitive areas like prints or embroideries. If the climate allows, drying on a rack is the best option, But don’t leave it out in the sun too long because it could bleach darker colours. If that’s not possible an electric dryer will do the trick, but remember to put your t-shirt in inside-out and don’t leave it in there too long.

Step 6 - IRONING, IT’S FUN!

Ironing can be fun and therapeutic. We promise to release a playlist to iron your WIP t-shirts to, in the meantime D’Angelo is a great choice.

  • Iron inside out.

  • Try to iron on a slightly damp t-shirt, otherwise spray your t-shirt with water.

  • Don’t iron on top of prints or embroideries.

  • The correct ironing order is: collar, cuffs and then the rest of the t-shirt.

Step 7 - FOLDING SPARKS JOY

Keep your t-shirts fluffy and soft like Japanese cheesecake with this Marie Kondo-approved folding technique.

  1. Lay your T-shirt facedown on a completely flat surface, with the sleeves fully spread out to the sides.

  2. Fold the sleeves in towards the center.

  3. Create a rectangle shape. Fold the collar of the shirt all the way back to the bottom hem, so that the garment looks like a rectangle.

  4. Carefully fold the shirt in half again.

  5. Stand the folded T-shirt upright in a storage container or drawer, so that you'll better be able to identify it when you're looking for something to wear in the morning.

Insider Tip: Wrinkle-Free Traveling. “I travel with a small spray bottle, and then I fill it with water,” says Bruce Pask, Bergdorf Goodman’s men’s fashion director. “When I unpack, I just give the shirts a quick spritz and tug on the bottom of the hem, and then the wrinkles kind of come out naturally without needing to press it again.”

Step 8: SELF-CARE.

Give yourself a pat on the back. That was a lot of work.

Thanks for reading our step-by-step guide on how to care for your WIP t-shirt! We hope this product lasts you a long, long, long time. F*** fast fashion.

Have a nice day :)
